The Palm Bay Soccer Tournament held in Brevard County is one of the biggest tournaments in the state and attracts competitive teams from all over Florida. A fantastic weekend in soccer culminated into a very exciting final game for the Treasure Coast United U9 girls. Tied at the end of the championship game, the final score went down to the wire with penalty kicks deciding the final outcome. While TCU just missed out on the win (by one penalty kick) the scrappy little team from Martin County fought all the way to stay competitive against a very strong team from Maitland, Florida.

In every game of the tournament the TCU U9 team was outmatched in size, number of players and age but never outmatched in ball skills and dedication. The team is made-up of 7, 8 and 9 year-old girls and is coached by the most accredited trainers on the Treasure Coast. Treasure Coast United competitive soccer teams are taught Coerver Coaching teaching methods at every practice and younger players learn ball control, passing and "running off the ball" before any tactics. And these methods certainly paid off this past weekend as the results were showcased with each game played.

Members of the TCU U9 Girls playing in the Palm Bay Tournament include: Jordyn Smith, Victoria Simm, Bethany Higgins, Sarah Livings, Gracie Baecher, Olivia Johnson, Kai Mildenberger, and Jess Levy. Other team members not able to play include Madison Iandoli and Sarah Danahy. The team is managed by Michael Simm. Michael and the trainers are preparing the girls for their final tournament of the season during Memorial Day weekend. Good luck girls!
