Below is a game by game summary of the road to the Final
Game 1
saw TCU take on the Auburndale Scream. It was a hard fought match that saw the TCU defense hold off wave after wave of attacks. Richie Doubleday, Rick Nance, Richard Goforth, and Graham Anderson were solid, only giving up goals on fantastic plays by the opponent . Offensively the scoring Started with a goal by Ben Erez followed by a goal by Dan Riddle. The game clinching goal came on a pass from Dan Riddle to Spencer Scott who put the shot away with 2 seconds left in the game giving TCU the win by the score of 3-2
Game 2
saw TCU in peak performance against Ormond Beach Apollo, giving a clinic on how the game is played. TCU won 4-0 with goal Dan Riddle, Ben Erez and 2 from Spencer Scott.Logan Hollowell and Raymond Kirkland controlled the midfield. After the game the coach from the other team was over heard saying there is no shame in losing to the best team they have faced all year.
Game 3
was a tough battle. after losing two players to injury and illness TCU was left to play with only 11 players. The Team from Citrus United sent substitutes on one right after another to try to wear our boys down. the game was tied 0-0 at the half. TCU scored quickly with2 goals.one from Joey Maxson and one from Bradley Tuggle. Citrus came back to tie the game and it again came down to a last minute goal ths time from Dan Riddle to seal the TCU victory.
Finals-
The Last game of the tournament was an epic battle between the best 2 teams in the tournament. TCU still with 11 players took and early lead with a goal from Ben Erez. The Highlands FC tied the game and that is the way it remained through regulation time with both team missing scoring opportunities due to great goalie play by The TCU goalie Matthew "Elvis" McCarthy and the opposing teams goalie as well as a heroic effort on defensene by Curt Jefferies. In the overtime period The Highlands scored quickly to end the amazing TCU run.
