SWIM STRONG AQUATIC CLUB

SWIM STRONG AQUATIC CLUB made great strides in 2007 and now we're back for our second season as the area's newest swim team.

GET YOUR FEET WET is the group for swimmers 5-18 who want to learn all four competitive strokes and compete for fun and fitness or in preparation for joining any local high school team. Must be able to swim 25 yards safely and independently, must have at least completed kindergarten and be able to follow instruction in a group setting.

KEEP YOUR FEET WET is for high school swimmers who want to develop their swimming over the summer by learning unique techniques and cutting edge methods that help swimmers go fast. Swimmers will be have fun competing on a different kind of team for the summer and be better prepared for the high school season. Must know all four strokes and be able to swim 500 yards. Optional ocean swimming may be included for those who qualify!

COACHES: The team is under the direction of Head Coach Deni Gillespie. Over the past four years Coach Gillespie helped lead the Jensen Beach High School team to a surge of success. This winter she received further training that will benefit all Swim Strong members. Coach Gillespie will again be joined by Assistant Coaches Clark Glover and Casey Gillespie and will welcome Brian Hutchins as our newest coach.

In 2008 we hope that swimmers from many schools will join us and help kick swimming up a notch or two in the high school season. Just like Lance Armstrong's "Live Strong" campaign inspired people, we are out to inspire people about what swimming can do for a person, inside and out. Swim Strong is for kids and teens who want to swim smarter, and get a great workout at the same time. Swimmers who grew disenchanted with more ritualized methods will find a new way to swim.SFRSL rules allow USA swimmers to join our clubs, but USAswimmers cannot swim official in SFRSL meets.
