Martin County North Little League's Ogden Raptors took both games of the Monday/Saturday series against the Storm. The Raptor's stretch their current win streak to three games and are now 11 and 3 on the season.
The Storm kept the Monday game close with a scrappy effort against our Raptors. But the Raptors eeked-out a victory. Monday's game also saw the pitching debut of Spencer Bonneville who closed-out the game facing 4 batters and striking out 3.
Saturday's game was a different story. The Raptors jumped ahead early and never looked back, recording their season-high run total. Saturday's game also featured a pitching debut, this time for Hunter Young. Saturday's pitching was solid for all the Raptors young guns and they enjoyed stellar run support, too. Noah Jones had a break-out game managing a hit on each at-bat. Griffin Roe hit back-to-back homers in one of his biggest offensive outtings of the year, as well.
A special note of congratulations to
Austin Kuyrkendall and
Carson Moore. Their teammates and coaches selected them to represent our Raptors in the upcoming little league all-star tryouts. Coach Brian Schoch explained that these selections lift-up and recognize not only stellar performance on the field but also solid character, hard work, hustle and commitment to the team.
Great job Austin and Carson.
The Raptors close-out the season with a Thursday/Saturday series against the Rock Hounds this week.
Congratulations to The Storm and the Raptors on a fun and well-played series!
