Contributed by: Mika Roberts on 5/3/2007

With boys coming as far away as Central Islip New York and St. Augustine Florida to participate in Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge this summer, Victory Forge Military Academy has decided to open up a few more 'bunks' to accommodate the volume of inquires and applications. While applications are still being accepted, last chance to enroll boys between the ages 7-12 in this exciting and challenging summer camp program is May 25.

We've had a great deal of interest from families all over the north and south east United States,' says Col. Alan Weierman creator of Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge and Commander of the Academy in Port St. Lucie. "Our summer camp program is different from some of the others because it focuses on making positive changes in the boys. While there is a great deal of discipline and learning going on we make every effort to make it fun with excursions to the beach and Busch Wildlife Center."

Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge is a four week summer camp for boys 7-12 and is based on some of the same techniques and exercises from real Military Basic Training programs. The boys will be able to experience what it is like to be in the military by learning map and navigation skills, overnight wilderness stays, and basic firearm safety in addition to normal Military style training drills. It is designed and perfectly suited for boys who lack confidence or who are exhibiting behavioral problems at home or in school.

Camp Victory operates on the fundamental principles of honesty, teamwork, honor and courage. These ideals teach young men respect, loyalty, duty, self sacrifice and personal courage. The program will run in a wilderness setting with minimal modern conveniences where campers turned recruits will be challenged to field exercises, building their own shelters, preparing their own food and encouraged to participate in physical and mental competitions that will build their confidence, self respect and teamwork.

The Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge will be held June 10 through July 8. The last day to sign up for the Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge is May 25. However early registration is strongly recommended to ensure your child has the opportunity to experience this one of kind summer camp.

Space is limited so families interested in wishing to enroll their son to participate in the 'Camp Victory Wilderness Challenge' should register today.
