2007 Saturn AURA Sports Sedan

"That's a Saturn ?!?"

Those are the words you will hear over and over this summer as Saturn rolls out its newest model, the 2007 AURA.

The AURA is a fashionable, upscale intermediate sedan that has European styling, colors, textures and trim combinations not previously seen on any American car.

When ask by passengers invited into the AURA what they thought the car was, they all said, "Acura?".

The AURA is a handsome car, but AURA really surpasses expectations inside the cabin. The AURA's refined, luxurious interior continues its theme of sophisticated simplicity, while combining premium materials with refined craftsmanship.

The AURA is designed to be a segment leader in safety, performance and security features. Standard safety features include 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, traction control, dual stage front airbags, head curtain side front and rear air bags and side impact drivers and front passenger air bags.

Not only does AURA include several accident avoidance and occupant features, it also boasts many valuable security items. They include standard OnStar Safe and Sound Plan, Pass-Key III Plus anti-theft system, remote vehicle starter system and remote keyless entry with a range up to 200 feet.

The AURA XE base model uses the 3.5 liter V6 with V V T (variable valve timing) and provides 224-hp with 220-lb-ft of torque. The AURA XR model uses GM's high-feature 3.6 liter-overhead-cam-aluminum-block V6 with V V T coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. It makes a strong 252hp and 251 lb-ft of torque at only 3,200rpm. AURA launches smartly from a stop with sharp upshifts.

TAPshift manual shift controls allow the drivers to tap-up or tap-down to shift into the desired gear for specific road conditions.

Next spring Saturn launches a four cylinder hybrid AURA employing a drive train similar to that in the VUE Green Line Hybrid sport utility.

The DIC, driver information center, has a total of 23 warning messages as well as 11 feature personalization options.

Cost of ownership factors like quality, fit and finish, durable materials and long-life maintenance features are a high priority for Saturn and midsized sedan customers alike and the AURA delivers on all counts.

XM Satellite radio is an available option.

The base XE model starts at $20,595 and the upper level XR starts with a base price of $24,595.
