Last year was a good year for me. I hope all of you had a good year as well.
Since the year is new, it is a good time to start thinking about the goals I would like to achieve for Treasure Coast Boater (
www.tcboater.com) in 2007.
But first, let's take a look back at 2006. The Site came to life in September and since then there has only been 633 People that visited the site. This is actually pretty good because it is an average of 181 people a month or 6 people a day. But, it is definitely nothing like E-bay who gets 139,504 people a day or the Boat Trader who gets 3,385 people per day.
I have learned a lot about the internet and web design this year. That is what prompted the website. Thanks to my friend Justin at
www.mpyremarketing.com who is also located in the Treasure Coast. Justin taught me how to set up the website, where to find all of the cool extensions and plug-ins for the site (
www.joomla.org) and he even taught me how to market the site online to my target audience.
Marketing is not easy. It takes a lot of time and effort in keeping the site current as well as getting a fan base. I started this blog as part of Tcboater's marketing campaign. Not only does the blog get people in the Treasure Coast to visit my site, but it also gets the name out there. Another Marketing campaign that I started is with myspace (

Ok so, for the 2007 goals:
- I would like to blog my progress 4 times a week. One blog will consists of screen shots of the incoming traffic to the site (Hopefully).
- I will use myspace as a marketing tool and try to add up to 40 Treasure Coast Residents to my friends list a day.
- Of course losing weight is a goal for me, but not for TCboater we want to fatten him up with lots of Classified ads, Boating funnies, and Directory Listings.
- My goal is to maintain a steady increase in traffic throughout this year. I would like to see a 30% increase in traffic every month. You can help make this happen!
- This site has potential to possibly generate some revenue. I will look for ways to make money through advertisements on the site.
I think I have named all of my goals for this year. I will sleep on it and if I have thought of any others I will let you know.
