Contributed by: Kara Oliver on 10/6/2009

This past Saturday, October 3rd from 7 a.m. unitl 2 p.m. South Fork High School's Army JROTC program held a mini raider challenge known as the PACMAN challenge. It was a competition that included a physical fitness test, land navigation test, litter carry relay, rope bridge course, and two-mile obstacle course. There were six schools competing, with a total of twelve teams in the three categories of male, female and mixed. South Fork High School entered a team in every category, with eight members on each team. The competition was long and tiring as the teams moved from one event to the next. The first event was the Physical Fitness Test which consisted of a one mile run, one-minute of sit-ups, and one-minute of push-ups. The events grew more strenuous throughout the day, ending with the two-mile obstucle course which included climbing a wall, carrying a litter, rope bridge, and low crawling through the mud. South Fork's teams did an amazing job, the female team finished in 1st place overall, the male team also came in 1st place overall, and the mixed team came in 2nd place overall. This was the teams first competition of the season, with more competitions to come we can't wait to see what they will accomplish this year!
