PORT SALERNO,Florida/April 4, 2008 - The American Red Cross Martin County Chapter has inducted three new members into the Humanitarian Hall of Fame. "The Humanitarian Hall of Fame honors those individuals in Martin County who have donated a minimum of twenty years of their personal time to help the Red Cross help those in need," said Mary Sawyer, Executive Director, American Red Cross Martin County Chapter. "This group of elite volunteers represents the humanitarian spirit that is at the heart of American Red Cross," Sawyer added.
Each year, during March, American Red Cross Martin County Chapter will honor these special men and women for their untiring service of humanity through the Red Cross. It is with their effort and through their dedication that families receive help when fire destroys their homes. It is with their kind and caring words they offer solace to the families of service men and women from around the world. It is through their gentle hands shelter and relief is provided in the wake of local disasters.
We salute the members of The Humanitarian Hall of Fame. The inductees and their years of service are: Jeff Weber - 23 years; Vera Hypolite - 24 years; Ed Goulding - 36 years.
