Blog Entry 2 of 2 Florida Legislators
My blog is about elected officials who fail to undertstand the real problems of Florida. Just look at the record. We cant balance a budget because our legislators tax only poor people. Land owners and homeowners get tax breaks and those who rent and the tourists we invite are subjected to regressive sales tax penalty that supposedly will fill the empty purse. Our legislators also support gambling which in effect is a tax on low income people who turn to gambling as the last hope for income to pay their debts. And how foolish our legislators look supporting a primary election that cacelled representation of elected delegates to the Democratic convention.Florida election shortcomings have created a poor image of political competency. While our legislators ponder over personal gains the state is experincing a seige of gun incidents that are out of control. The failure to impose sensible restrictions of gun owers and gun merchants has made our state insecure. Children are afraid to go to school, shopping has become a concern , and the permissive law of carrying concealed weapons makes living unesy. We are living in a violent environment that legislators seem to ignore. Perhaps it is time to elect mothers who see the problems that need to be addresed rather than lawyers who seek only to serve their own needs. It is obvious that those who were elected to serve the people are unable or are incapable to serve our needs.

A Stimulis Package that works for the People
Contributed by: Roger Neetz   on 1/28/2009

The new era of change is upon us and expectations are high. And the immediate concern of the people is the economy. The voting for change is over, but now many of the voters are unemployed and many more may lose their jobs in the coming months. Banks despite the subsidy gift of millions remain adamant and are witholding credit. Politicians are haggling over the proposed terms of a new stimulus package. Time is a factor, but there is concern that time is not on the side of the people. It is time for the people to speak

While our politicians argue over the cost of their proposed stimulus package, let me open the minds of the peopleto think about a new industry that creates wealth for all people at no cost to the government. Actually it is an old industry that people call a Lottery. But the new Lottery is a National Lottery and is not designed to attract people to purchase a ticket that has odds of 1 to 195 million of winning, It is a lottery with better odds and a chance to win $5000 or$10 000 every week, We can't all win in a week , but holding the lottery every week opens the opportunity of winning in a year.

The new industry only requires endorsement from our political representatives since the government will administer the program and make the payouts Yes there will be screeching an howling that a National Lottery is a ridiculous suggestion and should be tabled before it gets any support..Such thinking is not what is needed in this economic downturn. The best argument for support is that a lottery requires little or no capital investment and costs the government nothing since administrative costs are deducted before the payout.

Winners in the proposed lotterywill not be required to pay taxes on their winnings and the government will not withhold monies for other purposes. This is a progrm for the people and not for the money changers who have gotten us in this mess. The prize money could be reduced to $1,000 per winner every week and this would increase the number of winners and provide that financial stimulus to keep the economy from sinking. The real intent of the lottery is to put money back in circulation . It is not a savings program. It is a spending program that the people are wiling to participate in when the odds of winnning are in their favor

Think about it and discuss the merits of the initial proposal with friends. The people need a counterpart workable program to offset the manipulators who created financial instruments that have no value..And this is a program that does not increase the national debt.
