Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) is pleased to announce, for the second year in a row, one of their own is the recipient of the "Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award". Chad Girard, EI was presented the award on behalf of The Palm Beach County Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The award is presented annually and is the organization's highest honor for distinguished civil engineers in Palm Beach County, under the age of 35, for demonstrating leadership potential. "We are honored by Chad's dedication to the engineering profession and his commitment to excellence. Chad understands that engineers must prioritize professionalism in design and in public service" said David Wantman, President of WGI.
The 2008 Young Engineers of the Year Award recipient was selected from among numerous applicants. All of the applicants were evaluated by the board according to different areas: leadership potential; evidence of high character, performance, thirty-five (35) years of age or less on December 31 st and having between five (5) and ten (years) of public service. The 2008 Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award was presented to Chad during the annual Engineers in Government Night Ceremony on Thursday, April 17.
According to Ana DeMelo, Vice President of the ASCE Palm Beach Branch, "The board unanimously selected Chad based on his great contributions to the engineering society and to the community at this stage of his professional career."
