PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL-In an effort to give back to the community and to respond to the growing plight among uninsured neck and back pain sufferers, noted spine surgeon and Chief of Neurosurgery at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Charles S. Theofilos, M.D., P.A., is offering a free screening and evaluation clinic on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 9 a.m. to noon.
This comprehensive free consultation and evaluation, which can include MRI scans and treatment protocols, is open to all those who are uninsured and who suffer from back and neck pain and other spine disorders.
"While we cannot resolve the bigger issues of the healthcare crisis in our country, I wanted to give back to the community that has supported me for 15 years by delivering hope to the uninsured who live with crippling neck and back pain," says Theofilos. "This is one small step in helping those who need it most."
For an appointment, qualified patients can register by calling New Patient Coordinator Kim Kairalla at 561-630 3870, extension 139. Or, via email at: newpatient@thespinecenter.com. Space is limited and patients will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Pain medication will not be dispensed, nor will disability paperwork be completed.
For more than 20 years Dr. Theofilos has been a leading edge provider of the most comfortable and effective surgical and non-surgical treatment options for a full range of cervical and spinal ailments. He is a top advocate and worldwide educator in the development and use of artificial disc technology in preserving spine motion for patients suffering from degenerative disc disease or traumatic injury.
The Spine Center delivers state-of-the-art care and treatment in its comprehensive 10,000-square-foot facility that features the latest technology available, including an MRI center, a state-of-the-art, spine-specific rehabilitation center equipped with the latest spine-strengthening technology, and outpatient procedure suites for acute pain management, including epidurals and other minimally-invasive procedures. By working with top therapists, we have developed a program that can help patients avoid surgery by strengthening core muscles that are often the culprit behind many spinal ailments.
