RA Sushi, Downtown at the Gardens' stylishly edgy sushi bar and restaurant, has promoted Phil Berg as its new general manager.

Berg accepted the position on February 12, 2007. He began his RA Sushi career three years earlier as a server with the grand opening of the Tucson, AZ location. Within a few months, Philip transferred to Phoenix, AZ to become part of the management team at RA Sushi Kierland Commons.

During his tenure in Phoenix, Berg traveled to other RA Sushi locations, finally relocating in February 2006 to Palm Beach Gardens, FL to open the first RA Sushi in the southeast.

Berg's previous professional experience includes working for the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort at the Ventana Room in Tucson, AZ, a 5-Diamond/4-Star restaurant, as assistant to the maitre d', and serving as the assistant manager at Azzura Point in Coronado, CA. These credentials provided Berg with extensive resort and country club skills and knowledge.

Berg received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Arizona in Tucson.

RA Sushi is located at Downtown at the Gardens, 11701 Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue (next door to the Yard House). Lunch is served from 11am to 3pm, and dinner from 3pm - Midnight.
