Queen Jean Ann Duff said the prayer before our meal:
Now I sit me down to eat, I pray the Lord my shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles. Please no bags. And please lift my butt before it sags.
Please no age spots. Please no gray. And as for my belly, please take it away.
Please keep me healthy. Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord for all that you've done.
And All GOD's women said AMEN.
After Lunch, we all stood with our right hand on our hat and recited the Red Hat Pledge. Jean Jane Althoff, Queen of the Pizazzy Pineapples recited "Warnings". Florence Jones, Queen of Dazzling Dames in Red read "I won't, I won't, I Won't Get Older".
We ask all the women having birthdays in the month of February to please stand, while the remaining of us either sang or played Happy Birthday on our kazoos.
Our Discussion Topic was "How Do We Get Ladies Involved"? There was lots of discussion concerning what all is involved in planning an event, along with registered chapters verses unregistered chapters.
Jean Ann Duff, Queen of the Garden Gabbies announced that the Big Purple Undies Event has been cancelled due to the fact that they had ask for even more money to cover their flight to the states.
Several other events were announced - that are currently posted on the QCPBC website, such as the Spring Fair in Stuart on March 8, 2008; Ladies in Bloom Brunch in Vero Beach on April 5th, and several openings for the Tea and Tour at the Flagler Museum on March 11th.
