Stroke of Hope Charity Holds Annual Event at The Gardens Mall
Organization Raises $10,000 to Benefit Stroke "Victors"
Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (October 2, 2009) - More than 150 guests gathered at The Gardens Mall on Wednesday evening to help raise funds for the Stroke of Hope Club, a non-profit organization that provides services to all stroke "victors," their families and friends. Attendees at the community event sipped signature beverages and sampled hors d'oeuvres from Brio Tuscan Grille, raising $10,000 for local community members who have suffered strokes.
"We thank our attendees for raising much-needed funds for local Palm Beach and MartinCounty residents who have suffered a stroke, or are helping a friend or family member cope. Our sincere thanks also goes to The Gardens Mall and Brio Tuscan Grille for their generosity in hosting the event, and to Morganti Construction for their raffle donation and for printing our brochures for the event," said Liz Blake, Executive Director of the Stroke of Hope Club. "We look forward to the challenge of raising even more funds at our event next year."
The $20 admission ticket included a raffle ticket, which gave attendees the opportunity to win one of the following fabulous prizes: a 42" flat screen TV, a $100 gift certificate for the River House restaurant, a round of golf for four at Admirals Cove, a signed Jack Nicklaus putter or a $100 Gardens Mall Gift Card.
Attendees enjoyed a silent auction with items including gift certificates from local restaurants, days of beauty from local spas and salons, dinner for 10 at Brio Tuscan Grille, Gardens Mall store gifts, a Nick Price-autographed golf driver and much more.
Attendees were also able to purchase cards with artwork designed by local stroke "victors." The cards were the brainchild of Jupiter resident Erica Schwed, a student at The Benjamin School, who created the Strokes for Hope Artistic Project. Schwed sold packages of the cards for $10, which benefited the Stroke of Hope Club.
