Contributed by: Amy Bagner on 10/15/2009

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2009) - The Gardens Mall, a premiersponsor of the 19 th Annual Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure®, is seeking inspirational stories of breast cancer survivors or their loved ones for a contest to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

"Sharing our stories is an effective way to raise public awareness of breast cancer," said Patricia Abramson, chairwoman of the 2010 Race, scheduled for January 30 in West Palm Beach. "These stories - of courage and fear, hope and despair, love and anger - are special individually and en mass, fueling our dedication to eradicating breast cancer and moving others to join the battle. And they save lives by spreading critical messages such as early detection and treatment."

Shoppers are invited to submit their stories to The Gardens Mall, which will display all entries in the Mall's Pink Lounge, opening in January. All submissions will be entered into a drawing to select one winner, who will receive a $250 gift card from the mall. Stories can be up to 500 words and must be accompanied by an entry form, available at www.thegardensmall.com. Submit entries to the address on the entry form or to survivor@thegardensmall.com. All entries must be received by November 15, 2009. The winner will be announced November 30, 2009.
