The Benjamin School's BASH raises more than $1 Million for education
The Benjamin School in Northern Palm Beach County announced their annual fundraiser BASH held Friday, April 11 at The Beakers in Palm Beach raised more than $1 million. Co-Chairs Mary Stanton and Margi Vorder Bruegge and their committee entertained more than 350 guests as they brought the fabulous world of Monte Carlo to The Breakers, and their efforts paid off with all the proceeds raised from the gala going to The Benjamin Fund which supports school programs.
"Mary and I were honored to chair the BASH Gala this year and very gratified that the event was so successful for the school," said Vorder Bruegge. "We were fortunate to have such a dedicated committee and so many generous supporters."
The guests at BASH started their "Night in Monte Carlo" with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while bidding on the spectacular silent auction items gathered by the BASH Committee. After dinner, the action then turned to the live auction which started off with a zoom, an all-electric, eco-friendly, high-powered Vectrix motorcycle. Finally, the guests enjoyed dancing to live music by Eclipse and the thrill of casino gambling at "Casino Lydian" sponsored by Lydian Bank & Trust.
BASH was created by former Benjamin School parents Babs Fisher and Barbara Nicklaus. Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Nicklaus were co-chairs of the school's first-ever annual gala dinner and fundraiser, and they gave the event the name it still holds today, BASH, an acronym for Building A Scholastic Heritage. Since the first gala, BASH has been an annual event and the school's largest fundraiser.
The Benjamin School, a pre-kindergarten through grade 12 independent school, has a curriculum focusing on college preparatory education. More information about The Benjamin School can be found at their Web site
