Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter Kicks Off North County Campaign with
Party at Metronome and Sushi Jo at PGA Commons
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 13, 2008) - The American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter is in search of creative volunteers for its
HEROES for the American Red Cross North County fundraising event that runs from May 15 through June 26.
Anyone who volunteers to be part of the community-wide campaign commits to raising or donating $1,000 during the six-week time frame in any fundraising manner they choose. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to support the North County Service Center of the American Red Cross Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter.
"We're reaching out to all businesses, schools, individuals and clubs in our area," said Kevin Ring, committee member of the 2008 HEROES for the American Red Cross. "If you've got a unique idea for raising money and awareness of the American Red Cross, we would be honored to call you a HERO."
Ring welcomes those interested in volunteering to attend the Kick Off Party in the courtyard at Metronome and Sushi Jo in PGA Commons on May 15 from 6:00-8:00 PM and adds that volunteers can team up or work independently to put the "fun" in fundraising through creative events such as
themed bake sales,
yard sales,
car washes,
ice cream socials, talent shows,
dress down days at work and
Dimes for Disasters fundraisers.
The Kick Off Party will feature sushi, beer and Saki from Sushi Jo, delectable appetizers and wine from Metronome, a signature drink provided by Palm Beach Proper, entertainment by DJ Jean Marc and an exciting raffle with fantastic prizes from Joseph's Classic Market of Palm Beach Gardens, ROM 4 Fitness and Superticketsusa.com. Guests will receive gifts from Starbucks and Chick-fil-A in Palm Beach Gardens. Everyone is invited to attend this great event and find out more information on how to become a hero.
Along with Ring, the dedicated committee members who are collectively chairing the campaign and also committing as Heroes include David Ebenstein, TransAmerica Printing; Randy Epstein, Continental Catering; Paula Henderson, FPL; Michael Manisculco, InvoStar; Kevin Ring, Seacoast National Bank and Christine Schaefer.
All HEROES volunteers reaching the $1,000 goal will be recognized through a special celebration and inclusion in a series of press releases distributed to all local and regional media. HEROES already committed are:
