5 State Student Art Contest Winners...Win a Grand-Prize Trip to NYC!
Our congratulations to all the winners.
Sargent Art,from their corporate headquarters located in Jupiter, FL has pioneered the
1st Annual Art Contest, launched in May 2007. The contest was run in conjunction with YAM (Youth Art Month). Entrants participated from 5 different state schools. The age ranges and categories include: 1) primary (K-4th); 2)middle school (5th-8th); and 3) high school (9th-12th). All entrant submissionswere coordinated through the participating schools art instructor while underthe guidance of each states individual Art Education Association or art educator committee who premiered the program to compliment YAM. Non-partial judges were selected by the Associations prior to artwork submissions. All entrants were required to use paints, markers, pencils, crayons, pastels, paper, or any variety of these as a mixed medium to produce their artwork.
Sponsored by Sargent Art the grand-prize winners receive an all expense paid trip to New York City, complete with a tour guide. The trip took the winning student, their art instructor and a parent to Art Museums, the Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, a Broadway Show, Mary Poppins and other famous sites around New York City including the awards dinner.
"Upon viewing the artwork submitted by these talented young artists, everyone has had the same reaction...WOW! The entries were truly spectacular! What amazing talent we have in our schools! We look forward to expanding our partnership with art educators around the country, while helping to increase art appreciation for all! Most of our art consultants are retired art educators. They are just wonderful to work with, pillars of support and encouragement," said, Bhakti Oza and Janda Henkel,of Sargent Art.
"The excitement on the childrens' faces when they learn that they have won the art contest causes true joy that becomes contagious and naturally...it spreads to all! This is why we are so passionate about expanding our art contests to every state to inspire students, parents and educators in "Creating a Brighter World!" We support the arts whole-heartedly and look forward to the growth of the program reaching talented students locally and internationally!"
