Many Seniors Are Still Not Aware of this State Law

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Florida (YN) - The Florida State Legislature requires that anyone over 55 who completes a state approved motor vehicle accident prevention course receive a discount on their automobile insurance. Coaching the Mature Driver, offered by the Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. each month, qualifies drivers for this discount. The discount is valid for three years. Cost of the course is $10.00 per person.

This six hour classroom program has been developed especially for the senior driver who has years of driving experience. It reviews basic driving techniques and combines this with strategies to help offset theeffects of aging on driver performance.
