October 24th, 2009 PGA Park

The final weekend of the Pop Warner Junior Midget regular season was a good one as the Palm Beach Gardens Gators clinched the South Division title with a hard fought win over the visiting Jupiter Maroon Mustangs.

The first 2 quarters were an extremely close nose-to-nose, hit-filled half of football as each defense played aggressively. The football changed hands many times where both offenses were limited to just 8 first downs between the two teams. The half ended with the home team leading 8-6 where the difference in score was a successful Logan Heiser KAT conversion. The Mustangs had momentum as the half ended though when they stopped the Gators on a 4 th and goal at the end zone line on the last play of the half.

Luck was with the Gators in the second half as they used favorable field position and timely takeaways to shorten the field for their offense. Gators special teams played exceptionally well where solid blocking there also set up solid returns. The Gator Play-of-the-game was the athletic interception and return rumble from lineman Sam Dash early in the 3 rd quarter.

Two scores each by Hunter and Harley Sanicky and 3 KATs by Logan Heiser was the final game ending tally on the Gators side of the scoresheet.

The Gators play the Parkland Rangers in the 1 st round of the TCFC playoff.
