Seacoast Awarded Business of the Year by Chamber

Seacoast National Bank was recognized by the St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce as the 2009 Business of the Year in the Financial category at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, September 22.

"We could not be more excited about awarding Seacoast National Bank as a Business of the Year," explained Terissa Aronson, Director of Business Services, St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce. "We have always worked very closely with them and have witnessed first-hand their generosity and support throughout our community."

According to the Chamber: "Seacoast National Bank and their employees have been active participants in the Chamber for over 19 years. Involvement in the community is strongly encouraged at Seacoast. So much so that the employees of Seacoast have personally raised $30,000 dollars to give to various organizations and Seacoast itself has provided contributions in excess of $1 million dollars to St. Lucie County non-profit organizations."

Judging criteria for the award was based on community involvement, economic impact, work environment, environmental responsibility, expansion and Chamber participation.

"It is exciting to receive an award that recognizes Seacoast's continued participation in community events and our support of the chamber on their board, as well as committees," commented Terri Sloan-Bartz, Seacoast's Regional Manager of St. Lucie County. "All of our employees are a part of this award. Every time there is any kind of event, Seacoast is always represented by a crowd of employees working hard for the cause."

The operating arm of Seacoast Banking Corporation of Florida (NASDAQ: SBCF) Seacoast National Bank has 40 offices in Florida and approximately $2.3 billion in assets, and is one of the largest independent banks headquartered in Florida.
