"Capt Joel" Kilmer - Big Dog Comics
on 12/29/2008
As it has been for the last few years, the lucky and or the needy of Saint Lucie County have been touched by Big Dog Comics Christmas Raffle. This year Kyle Duce or "the Deuce" as we fondly call him, was our lucky winner. When he and his girlfriend got the call they rushed down to see what goodies they had won.
As soon as Kyle laid eyes on his winnings he said "That's more stuff than I need, will you give the toys to charity or someone less fortunate?" Well of course we said yes. So besides two of our favorite local organizations getting offered some of the over 30 toys, three other families reaped the rewards of a young mans generosity. One was a family with two young boys, another with a single hard working mom and her son, and another with a little boy and girl.
Another local boy Dylan, won 2nd place of $100.00 of merchandise, and third was a gentleman from the boys and girls club who won $50.00 in toys and such. Capt Joel is proud of his customers and friends who helped Big Dog Comics raise more money than last year for the Children's Miracle Network, with their purchase of raffle tickets.
In a year that has been rough on many in the Saint Lucie Count area, it is good to see great people like Kyle step up and share his good fortune with others. His generosity helped make Christmas a little bit better for 3 local families and many others.
Capt Joel would like to thank all who have graced our store over this last year. "It's the customers and friends that make any business a success. I hope to give back to them for another 25 years." Capt Joel said.
Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year to all from Capt Joel, Susan, and the rest of the Dog Pound at Big Dog Comics.
