A Poem for my Son
Contributed by: Daisy McGinnis on 8/27/2007

Michael is my first born, when he turned two years old I wrote a poem for him. I kept these poem in the safe box until he's old enough to read it and understand the meaning of it. He turned 4 years old last July 21, 2007.
I wrote this poem while I watched him played with his toys he got for his 2nd birthday. It made me proud that I was abled to composed these poem straight from my heart. Now, I have my second son Matthew, he's 6 months old, I also wrote a poem for him. I love my two sons and our daughther Erin, they are my joy and happiness. My husband is my inspiration that keeps me going, I adore and admired him so much for all his hardwork and for being such a wonderful father. Nothing in the world could weigh the love of the mother for her child/children.

Michael, My Miracle

(Poem by: Daisy McGinnis for Michael McGinnis Jr.)

My miracle is you,
Even before I met you

I already loved you;

Carrying you in my womb is a miracle, that is you;

I been blessed a precious one,

That's you my son.

The day you came out in this world,

I was in tears,

Could not describe my joy and happiness;

Finally, I saw my boy

I held you in my arms with so much pride and joy;

Now, I'm a mother to a beautiful little one,

That's you my son;

So much sleepless nights,

So much restless moments,

Those were nothing my son,

As long as you're here;

Days go by, you became smarter and stronger,

You start playing and crawling,

Then, you start talking and walking;

You've shown, you want to be on your own

But yet, you want to hang on.

I watched you grow day by day,

You made me so very happy;

Your smile is like the sun so bright

That makes my day so light;

Your laughter is like music,

That I could dance and sing with it;

Your cries and tears though break my heart,

But I know theirs a purpose for it;

Nourishing, nurturing and protecting,

Caring and loving you,

Is the promised I made to you;

Oh! Michael my miracle,

Now that you've grown like a big boy

Turning TWO is so much fun and joy;

You expressed your self and feelings even more

You talked like a smart little boy;

How amazing life can be

A little infant have grown as smart, gentle, loving child
You could ever be,

In my heart, you will always be my miracle, my son.

Love,

Mommy
