The Port St. Lucie High School Jaguar Battalion won the Annual Treasure Coast Raider Meet this weekend at Port St. Lucie High School. Hosted by the Jaguar Battalion, the competition started early and lasted until midday on September 19, 2009 at Port St. Lucie High School. In attendance this year were the Raider teams from Port St. Lucie High School, Ft. Pierce Central High School, Ft. Pierce Westwood High School and Okeechobee High School, all of which are Army JROTC units. Also in attendance was Treasure Coast High School's Air Force JROTC.
PSLHS won 1st Place overall in the competition. The Jaguar Battalion's coed team took first place in the Rope Bridge and in and the HMMWV Push. Treasure Coast High School placed 2nd overall. This was their program's first Raider competition, which could indicate a good competitive future for the Titan's Raider team. The Jaguar Battalion team included Carmine Auricchio, Samantha Folk, Cassandra Hill, Joel Lopez, Salvatore Monteleone, Mason Propst, Travis Riegler, Schnaila Thevnot and Amanda Mabry. They competed in a series of 6 events: push-ups, sit-ups, Rope Bridge, HMMWV push, obstacle course, and the 2-mile run.
Once again the Jaguar Battalion performed exceptionally well and brought home a first place trophy to Port St. Lucie High School. Congratulations Raiders!
