The Jaguar Battalion traveled to Moss Park in Orlando Saturday, October 10, 2009 for an Orienteering Competition. A combined team of Cadet Captain Salvatore Monteleone and Cadet Command Sergeant Major Travis Riegler placed 6 th in the statewide competition.
The competition, sponsored by the Florida Orienteering Club, was the first for this year's Orienteering Team. The Jaguars competed on the Yellow and Orange courses, which earn a medium difficulty rating.
This year's team consists of Raiders that are skilled in map reading and direction finding. In attendance Saturday were Samantha Folk, Dylan Solberg, Christopher Rader, Bradley Rader, Matthew Jacobson, Travis Riegler, Salvatore Montleone, Shawn Gifford, Timothy Hunter and Schnaila Thevenot. Also in attendance were Jaguar Battalion Booster Club members, who came as chaperones.
Throughout the competition, the Jaguars put their skills to the test and had fun while doing it. Good job to all those that attended and congratulations to those who placed!
