Another gorgeous event, another commemoration of the area's Filipinos within the community! It's time once again for the 24 th Annual Ball and Barrio Fiesta.
This Memorial Day weekend, the Philippine-American Association of Treasure Coast will honor the efforts of all Filipinos and non-Filipinos who have served or are currently serving in the United States military. This has been a highly anticipated event, culminating from months of preparation and coordination.
Starting on Saturday, May 23, there will be a spectacular cultural presentation at 4:00 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing at 7:00 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center. Tickets are selling for $65, non-members, and $55, members. Children's tickets for non-performers between the ages of 4 and 13 years old are $25, and for performers they are $12.50. The next day on Sunday, May 24, there will be a fun-filled Potluck Picnic held at the Jaycee Park in Fort Pierce from noon to 5 p.m. Folks from St. Lucie County are asked to bring a meat/poultry/rice dish; Indian River County will bring seafood/vegetable/rice dishes, while Martin and Okeechobee Counties are to bring desserts/fruits/pansit/rice. Two-liter soda per family and lots of water is highly encouraged.
Enjoy a weekend of Filipino cultural exchange! Honor our servicemen and women of the Armed Forces. Dress up in your formal attire for the ball on one day, while having fun with games held at the park the next!
