Butterfly Lifestyles Revealed
Contributed by: arthur apissomian on 4/7/2009

The Young Democrats of St. Lucie County will be raising money for the National Wildlife Federation at St. Lucie County's Earth Day Celebration at the Oxbow Eco-center on Saturday, April 18.

Offering information about the butterfly's life cycle, they will be selling plants that attract butterflies to your yard, as well as distributing more than 300 free National Wildlife Magazines including National Wildlife, Ranger Rick and Your Big Backyard for children.

Drawing tickets will be on sale for various prizes including plush polar bears, shade-grown coffee, a NWF hiking backpack, a NWF cooler, and other items. The proceeds will benefit the National Wildlife Federation and the Young Democrats.

In order to raise awareness about the trash left on Florida's beaches, the Young Democrats will have a display about thousands of plastic bags and bottle caps left on our beaches. As an alternative to disposable plastic bottles, plastic bags and aluminum foil, find out how to book a "Go Green" party at their booth.

The event is at the Oxbow Eco-Center, 5400 NE St James Drive, Saturday, April 18 th 10am-3pm. For further information about their booth, call 772-879-2760.
