Did Christ die for our sins?
It appears Oprah has been criticized for her statements or support of the belief that Jesus did not die on the cross for our sins.
Here is my response!
Food for thought;
Matheno in the time of Christ was a High Priest, a master from the temple of Sakara. Matheno taught John (the Harbinger) about "sin and the law of forgiveness". John could not understand how sin could be forgiven by killing animals, and birds, and burning them before the Lord.
Matheno said, The God of heaven and earth does not require sacrifice. This custom with its cruel rites was borrowed from the idol worshippers of other lands. No sin was ever blotted out by sacrifice of animal, of bird, or man.
Keep those teachings in mind!!!!!!!!
Then read this;
Jesus was at a feast in Jerusalem, when he witnessed the butchers kill the lambs and birds and burn them on the altar in the name of God.
Jesus asked the priest about these acts of cruelty. They said "this is our sacrifice for sin. God has commanded us to do these things, and said that in these sacrifices all our sins are blotted out."
Jesus challenged the priest to show him where it says this. They could not. Then Jesus said; "did not David say that God requires not a sacrifice for sin; that it is sin in itself to bring before his face burnt offerings, as offerings for sin? Did not Isaiah say the same?"
I could go on and on about this event. The point is....
Jesus as well as John knew that sacrifice for sins is wrong! Now; if Jesus died for our sins as the churches preach, doesn't that say he believes in sacrifice? And does it not also mean that we should support Idol worshippers? This does not sound like the teachings my Jesus would teach. The fact is, devil worshipper's sacrifice, and they do it for idols.
The main teaching of Jesus dying on the cross was to teach us that the spirit lives forever, and he did this act out of love for us. That is why he came back in three days... If he died for our sins, then why would he come back and show us he is not dead. Does this make any sense? If he is not dead, did he die for our sins or not?
The problem seems to be with our need to be right and our need to let someone else do our thinking for us. One of Jesus main teachings was "seek and ye shall find", But for so many of us that would require study and turning off the TV and we would much rather leave it to our church. (The experts). I don't think Jesus would approve of that method.
But in closing, we can all follow any path we choose... I choose to follow my heart and my gut and seek my own way without the influence of a fear based church or other method of persuading me. Maybe if we were to be still (meditate) go within and ask God which is more accurate, not some church or preacher we would get the correct answer. Go within or Go without. The choice is ours.
Namaste
