Florida Friendly March

Did you know that Governor Christ has declared March officially Florida Friendly Landscaping month. The State of Florida values the naturalbeauty and health of our state's fragile environment and realizes that this natural beauty must be created and sustained by environmentally safe landscape practices.

Florida Friendly landscaping is a science-based program of the University of Florida/Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences.

Springtime is the season Florida residentswill begin planning and revitalizing their landscapes, and it is important to the future of Florids's water resources that the best management practices of Florida-friendly landscaping be adopted by residents.

Fred Burkey is the Multi-County Extension Agent and his assistant Pat Bonis are always available to guide you through the Florida Friendly Ways. They can be reached at the local extension office at 772-288-5654.
