TRBG BLOCKBUSTER PLANT & POTTERY SALE
Contributed by: June Marsden on 5/24/2008

BOTANICAL GARDEN IN STUART WILL HOLD ITS END OF SPRING BLOCKBUSTER PLANT AND POTTERY SALE ON JUNE 21-22.

Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens will be selling hundreds of rare and unusual plants as well as better known landscaping plants from 9AM-3PM, on June 21-22. The more you buy, the more you save - up to 20% savings. Many of these plants may be seen in their mature form within the Gardens. For example, a wide variety of Copperleafs, several types of Bamboo, Blood Leaf Bananas, and Variegated Mahoe Trees.

In order to help Treasure Coast Area gardeners cope with our current dry conditions and watering restrictions, TRBG is also featuring native plants that have low water requirements and still add a great deal of color to the garden throughout the year. Examples of native plants for sale are Beautyberry, Necklace Pod, Wild Lime, and Yellow Elder, to name a few. Other drought tolerant plants will be available, as well, such as Bromeliads, Plumeria, Euphorbia, and Agave.

Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens is the first Botanical Garden in Martin County and admission is free. In 2000, Diane Rexroad and Jim Haines established these unique and diverse gardens that surround their home, and The Gardens offers homeowners a good example of what can be accomplished on their property.

As always, the public is invited to stroll through the lushly landscaped, three acre Botanical Gardens. There is a self-guided tour through ten theme gardens: the International, Oriental/Bamboo, Butterfly, Mexican Patio Area, Wine & Cheese Garden, Herb & Spice Garden, the Wedding Gazebo and Moonlight Garden, the Palm Garden, the Champion Tree Garden, and the latest, the Waterfall and Aquatic Garden.

Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens will be open Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22, 9 AM-3 PM, and there is no entrance fee. There will be hundreds of plants for sale ranging from large palms to plants appropriate for container gardening. The Gardens will be open only one day in July (Sat., the 19) and August (Sat., the 16), and will resume its usual weekend schedule on September 20 & 21.

The Gardens are located at 1905 SW Ranch Trail in the Tropical Farms area of Martin County. Please telephone for directions or further information (772-283-5565) or go to our website: www.tropicalranchbotanicalgardens.com.
