TRBG HOSTED A CHRISTMAS CRAFT DEMONSTRATION AND PLANT SALE ON DECEMBER 13-14.
Martin County Master Gardeners Maggie O'Brien and Ginny Douglass gave Christmas craft demonstrations at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens on December 13-14. All of the holiday decorations were made with plant material from the gardens. In addition, beautiful Holiday Angels made from philodendron leaves were for sale.
As always, door prizes were raffled off following each of the demonstrations. Winners were Barbara Wade of Stuart, on Saturday, (a decorated basket of Joseph's Coat); and Margaret Dawson of Hobe Sound, on Sunday, (a basket of Sweet Alyssum).
Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens is the first Botanical Garden in Martin County, and it is free to the public. In 2000, Diane Rexroad and Jim Haines established these unique and diverse gardens that surround their home, and The Gardens offers homeowners a good example of what can be accomplished on their property. Garden experts are always available to answer your gardening questions.
The next opening at Tropical Ranch Botanical Gardens will be Saturday and Sunday, January 17-18, 9 AM-3 PM, featuring an "Introduction to Bromeliads" at 10AM that Saturday. There will be hundreds of rare and unusual plants for sale ranging from large palms to plants appropriate for container gardening. The Gardens are located at 1905 SW Ranch Trail in the Tropical Farms area of Martin County. Please telephone for directions or further information (772-283-5565) or go to our website:
