Direct Mail Campaign Targets Summer Safety
Contributed by: Sam Yates Yates & Associates on 6/25/2009

PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida/June 25, 2009 - Physicians Immediate Care, the premier provider of urgent care medicine on the Treasure Coast, had launched a massive direct mail campaign urging residents to enjoy the summer vacation months but play it safe to avoid injuries and accidents. Nearly 130,000 postcards have been sent to residents of Martin and Saint Lucie County. "We know our residents will be outdoors enjoying all that makes this one of the most wonderful places to live," said Kenneth Palestrant, MD, owner/founder of Physicians Immediate Care. "We are simply reminding everyone that common sense and caution goes a long way towards keeping everyone safe during the summer months," added Dr. Palestrant.

Among the common sense safety precautions residents should take:

  • Use sun-screen products to avoid sunburn
  • Wear a hat with a broad brim
  • Drink plenty of water when outdoors
  • Reduce the intensity of outdoor activities when temperatures soar
  • Don't leave children unattended in or around pools
  • Don't mix alcohol and outdoor activities such as boating
  • Never let children play with matches and flammable liquids
  • Always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle or motorcycle
  • Follow manufacturers instructions when using bug repellents

"We have found that when children and adults just follow some simple common sense rules, their safety and the safety of those around them are greatly enhanced," concluded Dr Palestrant. The massive direct mail campaign urges Treasure Coast residents to go ahead and enjoy yourself...but if an accident happens, Physicians Immediate Care is there with no wait walk-in urgent care seven days a week.
