The combination of southern belles and the charm of an 1800 style southern Christmas was the winning combination for Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company in the Vero Beach and Fort Pierce Christmas parades this past weekend. Natalie's Orchid Island Juice won awards for Best Costumes in the Vero Beach parade and Best Float in the Fort Pierce Christmas parade.
"The Christmas season is always a time of great joy and celebration for our family and Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company," said John Martinelli, Executive Vice President, Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company. Martinelli also sent special thanks to everyone who took part in the construction of the Christmas float and even the hand sewing of the southern belles costumes. "We are lucky to be able to share our enthusiasm and high spirits with our many friends and neighbors by participating in the annual Christmas parades, thanks to the hard work of everyone who pitched in to make our float and costumes winning entries," added Martinelli.
The winning float featured an 1800's era decorated southern Christmas theme which was accented by two southern bells and two southern gentlemen. A "live" orange (Bill Sexton) sang Christmas songs along the route. The float was accompanied by a vintage 1964 American LaFrance fire engine driven by firemen in vintage clothing. The fire engine was guarded by cowboys to protect Mrs. Claus (Mrs. Martinelli) and Miss Orchid Island Juice Company (Lucy Sexton). "The parades were a lot of fun and we look forward to challenging other businesses and organizations in our communities to be the best entries in 2009," concluded Martinelli.
