As a veteran of the US Army I began to wonder what I would want from my hometown and my country if I were overseas. With all the differences in opinions of our troops being in Iraq it is hard to express our sincere thanks for the sacrifices that our troops are making. I am putting out a challenge to not only all residents of St Lucie County but the State of Florida and the nation.
I am going to flythe United Statesflag in front of my house and place yellow ribbons on my trees in my yard. These will stay put until the last soldier is brought home from Iraq.
This is not only my way of saying thank you, but also welcome home. My political beliefs about Iraq are not important. However my support of our troops is.
Florida seems to get a lot of bad press when it comes to politics. Why not use this opportunity to make a statement that can be seen around the world? I believe it is the duty of every individual in America to be a patriot and show our troops the gratitude they deserve. As you can tell by the photo, I am flying a 4 x 8 foot flag from the roof of my home. Not everyone can do this, however you can place many small flags in your yard and the yellow ribbons around your trees.
St Lucie County stand up and be seen, get with your neighbors and lets see the Red White and Blue on every home in the county.
God Bless our Troops worldwide.

my name is betty janovsky and I also proudly display the American flag and yellow ribbons around all my palm trees including the center tree in the cul-du-sac. My neighbors are the parents of a young soldier in Iraq, Marianna and john who proudly display a flag for the safe return of their wonderful and heroic son johnathan. So please everyone pray for his safe return.
