Saturday, July 25 th, we welcome home Flight Eng. Staff Sgt. Jorge E. Goicochea.
Born in Lima - Peru, he came to the United States in 1990, at only 10 years of age. He was a good student, a good son, brother and friend. He always helped his classmates, always listened to the advice his parents gave him. Since he was a little boy, he use to say he wanted to be a soldier in the Army. When we came to the United States, he said he wanted to serve this country.
When he was in high school, he took some aviation and flight classes for credit hours. Upon graduating from high school, he decided to join the Army. It was a huge surprise when he told us he was ready to go; we gave him our approval and our blessings.
After completing basic training at Ft. Jackson, he did tours of duty in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. While serving in the Army, he became a U.S. citizen.
Flight Eng. Staff Sgt. Jorge E. Goicochea experienced a Chinook helicopter crash in which lives were lost and serious injuries sustained. After a few years of recuperation, he was once again relocated to Germany.
Flight Eng. Staff Sgt. Jorge E. Goicochea, is retiring now with 10 years of military service.
Our family would like to thank him for his courage and integrity, as a soldier and now a Veteran of War; we give him all of our blessings for a new life as a civilian.
Flight Eng. Staff Sgt. Jorge E. Goicochea has a 7 year old daughter, Sofia Marie Goicochea, his girlfriend Gissela Palomino, his parents, Kevin and Sheila Morrison, his sister and her husband and kids, Cynthia, Douglas, Alexander, Brianna, and Christian Harrison, and has family in Peru. May he have all of our respect; he is a prime example to all Hispanics living in the United States.
God bless him and God bless America.
