On Tuesday, January 22, 2008, Queen Fran Lerman and the Red Hattitudes of Pine Lake Village hosted a tea at King Charles Tea Shop and Bakery on Monterey Road in Stuart. King Charles Tea Shop and Bakery is newly owned by Sherrie and Graham Taylor-Jones. Both are British ex pats that have recently moved from Cambrige, UK.
The following Red Hatters attended the tea: Queen Eileen Barrett, Joyce Wright, Mickie Krever, Joyce Savone, Jean Shaw, Alice Iannarelli of the Lucie Goosies, Queen Lucille Petruzelli of the Crimson Busy Bonnets, Queen Retha Kraehenbuel, Vice Queen Kristine Loessin, Liz Plasket and Ev Deggeller of Pampered Pack of Peacocks, Queen Jean Jane Althoff, Vice Queen Ann McCormick, Antoinette Knittel, Kathy Lenaghan and Marilyn Coulter of the Pizazzy Pineapples, and Claire Bryant, Vice Queen Cindy Giesemann, Queen Fran Lerman, Agnes Luck, Ellen McAnellen, Barbara Plosonka, Sandy Smith, and Aleona Wells of the Red Hattitudes of Pine Lake Village.
There were centerpieces on each table that were made by Cindy Giesemann, Vice Queen of the Red Hattitudes of Pine Lake Village. The seating was assigned by our hostess, who mixed us all up so that we could meet and talk with Red Hatters we didn't know. At the beginning of the tea, Queen Fran Lerman played the Red Hat Song. We also recited the Red Hat pledge.
There were so many different kinds and flavors of tea. Each of us received our own personal pot of tea. There were several kinds of tea sandwiches (salmon & Cucumber, Ham, Brie and Branston, Chicken Basil Salad and Egg Salad). They were delicious. We also had some miniature desserts. After we filled up on the sandwiches and desserts, they brought out freshly backed scones with clotted cream, imported jam, and fresh strawberries.
There was a Red Hat Split. Winners were Antoinette Knittel of the Pizazzy Pineapples, and Ellen McAnellen of the Red Hattitudes of PLV.
We also played the Candy Game. Winners were: Jean Shaw of the Lucie Goosies, Alice Iannarelli of the Lucie Goosies, Ann McCormick, Vice Queen of Pizazzy Pineapples and Ev Deggeler of Pampered Pack of Peacocks.
We all enjoyed ourselves so much! Great Job Red Hattitudes. What a Fantastic Tea at a Fantastic Place. If you haven't already been to King Charles, you should make every attempt to stop by.
