On Saturday, February 7, 2009, Red Hatters from the following chapters enjoyed "Tribute to the 50s" at Panther Woods Country Club in Fort Pierce: Classic Crimson Cruisers, Dazzling Dames in Red, Friends to the End, Frilly Red Hatters, Frivilous Flirts, Lucie Goosies, Pampered Pack of Peacocks, Pizazzy Pineapples, Redda Kappa Gamma, Red Hat Honeys, Red Hat Mamas of Fort Pierce, Red Hat Mamas of Vista Royale, Red Hat Rascals, Red Hot Water Babies, Treasure Coast Ruby Red Jewels and South Brevard Scarlett Belles.
Kristine Loessin, Queen of Pampered Pack of Peacocks was at the Registration desk, and Gail Marineau, Vice Queen of Classic Crimson Cruisers handed out door prize tickets and collected door prizes as each chapter entered.
Shirley Doney, Queen of Friends to the End and Angel Decker, Vice Queen of Dazzling Dames in Red sold Red Hat Split Tickets.
There was shopping Galore!! There were 6 Red Hat Vendors there for our shopping pleasure. Tanya Killibrew (Tampa), Cindi Read (Tampa), Dorothy Greer (PSL), Donna Parsons (Melbourne), Pat Hvisdas (Melbourne), and Cynthia Willis.
Our Mistress of Ceremonies was Florence Jones, Queen of Dazzling Dames in Red. She welcomed everyone, and led us in reciting the Red Hat Pledge, Pledge of Allegiance and a Prayer before our meal. She also welcomed the women and chapters who were attending for the first time.
Birthdays for the month of February were also recognized as we sang Happy Birthday and played our Kazoos.
Sidney Weber, Queen of Classic Crimson Cruisers recited a reading that was appropriate for our 50s theme. (Do You Remember?)
Each table was decorated with a Record centerpiece, and a string of 3 balloons (white, pink and black). Our lunch consisted of Hamburgers and Chicken Sandwiches, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, and Ice Cream and a Brownie for Dessert.
After our meal, Lauren Osborn took the stage. She is a fantastic entertainer. She sang to a lot of the 50's tunes. She led us in some 50s Trivia questions, and the Name Game. She was also the judge for our Dance Contests - the Twist, the Stroll and the Chicken Dance.
Our Twist Contest winner was Donna Parsons, Queen of the South Brevard Scarlet Belles. The winner of the Stroll was Angel Decker, Vice Queen of Dazzling Dames in Red. There were two winners for the Chicken Dance - Carolyn Nicholas of the Red Hat Honeys and Mary Jane Koliba of Dazzling Dames in Red.
Our Red Hat Split Winners were Hilde Pasnivak ($100) of the Red Hat Mamas of Fort Pierce and Margie Martinez ($70) of the Classic Crimson Cruisers.
