On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, the Lucie Goosies sponsored a culinary luncheon at the Half Hour Inn at the Vero Beach High School. The culinary students at the school prepared the food and served it to the Red Hatters. There were 60 Red Hatters in attendance from the following chapters: Classic Crimson Cruisers, Dazzling Dames in Red, Frivolous Flirts, Glad Hatters of Vero, Lucie Goosies, Pampered Pack of Peacocks, Pizazzy Pineapples, Redda Kappa Gamma, Scarlet Vamps and the Shady Ladies.
Eileen Barrett, Queen of the Lucie Goosies welcomed everyone to the event, and led the group in the Red Hat Pledge. The February Birthday Ladies were recognized with singing and playing of kazoos. There were 6 door prizes given as well as a Red Hat Split winner. Red Hat Split tickets were sold by Queen Florence Jones, Diane Kemp and Vice Queen Angel Decker of the Dazzling Dames in Red. The winner was Bess Callejo of the Classic Crimson Cruisers.
For lunch we had pot roast with gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower casserole, rolls and butter and iced tea. For dessert we were served Red Velvet Cake and coffee.
Everyone enjoyed themselves. The Students did an outstanding job!
