Two hundred fifty Red Hat ladies attended the Birthday Bash on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Hutchinson Island Marriott in Stuart. The Red Hat Society celebrated being 11 years old on Saturday, April 25, 2009 but we celebrated today. The Treasure Coast Queens Council sponsored this event.

Chapters attending were: Capella Rosa, Chapeau Rouge, Classic Crimson Cruisers, Classy Red Foxes, Crimson Chapeleres, Crimson Charmers, Crimson Cuties, Dazzling Dames in Red, Foxy Red Hatters, Friends to the End, Garden Gabbies, Golden Girls of the Treasure Coast, Heron Cay Chicks, High Point Red Hatters, Jupiter Jewels, Lake Charles Classy Redkettes, Les Femme En Rouge, Lucie Goosies, Pampered Pack of Peacocks, Pizazzy Pineapples, Purple Foxes, Purple Passion Ladies, Purple Passions of Hutchinson Island, Rebels with Hatatude, Red Bonnet Belles, Red Hat Honeys, Red Hat Tomatoes, Red Hattitude of PLV, Red Hot Mamas, Red Hot Seasons, Redda Kappa Gamma, Royal Rubies, Spicy Sassy Lassies, Scarlet Dames, Scarlet MadHatters of the Cascades, Scarlet Vamps, South Brevard Scarlett Belles, Southern Belles of Boca, Surfside Sisters and Treasure Coast Ruby Red Jewels.

Just outside the ballroom, there were six vendors for our shopping pleasure - Unique Designs (Donna Parsons), Well Behaved Women (Cindi Read), Nan-Tiques (Nan Fraley), Katydid Enterprises (Tanya Killebrew), MAR-DO (Dorothy Greer and Mary Ross) and Cynthia's Handpainted Crafts (Cynthia Willis). Sidney Weber worked with the vendors.

Eileen Barrett and Florence Jones were at the Check-In Table, handing out Meal Tickets, and giving out favors to each and every lady attending. They also handed out door prize tickets.

Kristine Loessin was our Mistress of Ceremonies. She welcomed everyone and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Red Hat Pledge.

Sue Carter read 'Warning", which inspired Sue Ellen to start the Red Hat Society.

The ladies who had birthdays in April were acknowledged with the singing or Happy Birthday or playing it on kazoos. Dorothy Lockery of the Red Hat Honeys was one of our Birthday Gals. She turned 95 years old, and couldn't wait to tell her daughter that 250 Red Hatters clapped for her.

There was a prayer just before lunch. For lunch there was a choice of Pasta Primavera or London Broil.

Richard Murphy furnished the music.

After lunch, Amy Dingler took the stage. Amy Dingler is a young adult entertainer who did a great job of entertaining us with a bash on the Red Hat Ladies. She is to be commended for having the courage to do so... Amy introduced our other entertainer(s) Adam - that delivered our 6 ft birthday cake. We had two male dancers from A HOT PARTY. The entertainment left us breathless and wanting more.

There were dozens of door prizes. Liz Plasket, Ev Deggeler, Angel Decker and Shirley Doney helped pass out the door prizes.

Angel Decker, Shirley Doney, Melissa McKinney and Sue Farrell sold Red Hat Split Tickets. There were four (4) $100 Red Hat Split winners and one (1) $68 Red Hat Split winner. They were: Jean Jane Althoff, member of the Pizazzy Pineapples, Alice Price, member of Dazzling Dames in Red, Carole Wiseman, member of the Lucie Goosies , Carol Kahn, member of the Scarlet Dames and Dee Litman, member of Red Bonnet Belles.
