On Wednesday, July 8, 2009 several chapters got together to check out a new teahouse in the area. Chapters attending were: Capella Rosa, Classic Crimson Cruisers, Dazzling Dames in Red, Friends to the End, Hurricane Hatters, Jazzy Red Hat Divas, Lucie Goosies, Pizazzy Pineapples, Red Hattitudes of PLV and the Scarlet Vamps.
The Lucie Goosies sponsored this tea.
Diamonds Tea Room & Bistro opened its doors on May 1, 2009. The owner is Terry Rieger, who is a master jeweler and gemologist.
Their Tea is 6 courses. Our tea started out with Sweet Red Pepper Soup. This was followed by salad of mixed greens. Then came the finger sandwiches (fine roast beef & Horseradish - cucumber & creamed cheese - and honey baked ham with spicy mustard) pinwheels & canapes, scones with Devonshire cream, lemon curd and fine raspberry jam, fruit compote marinated in rum, cheese and pastries.
The tea we were served was Assam - the Queen's Tea. Pure Assam Tea is a rich Indian tea from the Brahmaputra valley From Taylors of Harrogate Tea Merchants since 1886.
Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was magnificent and the service was excellent.
We had two special guests - granddaughters of two of the queens in attendance. They wore pink hats. They were Isabella Hayes and Nicole Amoroso
There were 3 door prizes given out. The door prize winners were Jill Barson of the Jazzy Red Hat Divas , Millie Howard of the Scarlet Vamps and Nicole Amoroso .
There was one Red Hat Split Winner of $100. The winner was Sue Farrell, Vice Queen of Friends to the End of Fort Pierce.
