Witches and Goblins and Monsters – Oh My!

Area Red Hatters gathered early for a Halloween Bash sponsored by the Treasure Coast Queens Council. The Halloween Bash was held at the Vero Beach Elk's Lodge.

Red Hat Chapters attending were: Capella Rosa, Chapeau Rouge, Classic Crimson Cruisers, Classy Red Foxes, Dazzling Dames in Red, Fabulous Floozies, Friends to the End, Frivilous Flirts, Glad Hatters of Vero, High Point Red Hatters, Lucie Goosies, Pampered Pack of Peacocks, Purple Passion Ladies, Purple Passions of Hutchinson Island, Red Hat Divas, Red Hat Honeys, Spicy Sassy Lassies, Treasure Coast Ruby Red Jewels, Southern Belles of Boca and South Brevard Scarlet Belles.

There were several Red Hat Vendors for our favorite sport - shopping. Vendors included Cindi Read of Well Behaved Women, Donna Parsons of Unique Designs by Donna, Pat Hvisdas of Unique Collections by Pat, Nan Fraley of Nan-Tiques, Cynthia Willis of Cynthia's Clip On Hats & More, and Tanya Killibrew of Katydid Enterprises. Special thanks to Sidney Weber for arranging for our vendors.

Martha Dewey, Queen of Purple Passion Ladies and Eileen Barrett, Queen of Lucie Goosies welcomed each of the ladies as they entered and presented them with a favor and door prize ticket.

Our Mistress of Ceremonies was Shirley Doney, Queen of Friends to the End. She welcomed everyone to the event and led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Red Hat Pledge. She also said a prayer prior to our meal.

Marie Clancy and MSC Fine Foods and Service catered our event. Our meal consisted of: Caesar Salad, Rolls & Butter, Chicken Parmesan, Manicotti, Spaghetti w/Meatballs, Preset Cup of Dirt & Worms (dessert), Coffee and Iced Tea.

There was a Costume Contest after lunch. Several of the vendors served as our judges. There were two categories - funniest and scariest. The finalists were: Lucille Petruzzelli, Kathy McAmis and Vice Queen Melissa McKinney of the Lucie Goosies, Vice Queen Karen Bechtold of the Classy Red Foxes, Vice Queen Patty Bough of the Fabulous Floozies, Vice Queen Shirley Verdon of the Purple Passion Ladies, and Doris Ryan, member of the Classic Crimson Cruisers. Our winners were Shirley Verdon and Doris Ryan.

There was also a Pumpkin Centerpiece Contest, with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. The 3rd place winner was the Red Hat Honeys. The 2nd place winner was the Spicy Sassy Lassies. The 1st place winner was the Southern Belles of Boca.

We had three Red Hat Split winners. Our $100 winner was MaryAnn Dawe of the Red Hat Honeys. There were two $55 winners - Patty Bough, Vice Queen of the Fabulous Floozies and Lynn Krauthamer of the Lucie Goosies.
