FORT PIERCE - For the third consecutive year, St. Lucie County's Media Relations Division earned recognition from the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).

At Tuesday night's annual Image Awards ceremony, the Media Relations staff earned four awards in two categories. The Media Relations and St. Lucie International Airport staff won an Image Award in the Public Relations Campaign - Public Service Category for the Voluntary Noise Abatement Program, including included a video, press releases, letters, brochures, posters and public meetings about the airport's new program. The entry also earned a Judges' Award, which is given to projects that demonstrate maximum results on a minimum budget.

The Media Relations staff also earned an Award of Distinction and Judges' Award in the Audio/Video Category for a series of 60-second public service announcements that promote the county's weekly interactive nature series with Capt. Chop Legé.

The Image Awards ceremony was held Tuesday night at the Schreiber Conference Center at Indian River Community College's St. Lucie West Campus. This year's entries were judged by members of the FPRA Orlando Chapter.

Chartered in 1984, the Treasure Coast Chapter of the FPRA serves public relations professionals in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties.
