On May 31, 2008, four girls from Junior Troop 707 received their Bronze Award. Brooke Chambers, Taylor Jeffery, Allison Sullivan and Kelsey Theodore all earned this award while helping collect new and gently used clothing for foster children. These items were then turned over to United For Families, a group that allows foster children to 'shop' for clothing at no cost. These girls collected several hundred pieces of clothing, while learning about the needs of our community.
The Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can earn, requires her to learn the leadership and planning skills necessary to follow through on a project that makes a positive impact on her community. Working towards this award demonstrates her commitment to helping others, improving her community and the world, and becoming the best she can be.
The award was presented during the troop's bridging ceremony. The troop bridged from Juniors to Cadettes with family members participating. Troop 707 is very proud of all of our girls and looking forward to many more great things to come.
