PORT ST LUCIE, FL-Workforce Solutions' Annual Meeting held Wed, Jun 24 th was full of praises and recognition.
"It is always important to take the time to recognize and publicly appreciate the services of others," Vice President of Operations Michael Waninger said.
Two retiring community leaders, State Senator Ken Pruitt and Florida Atlantic University's Gerri McPherson, were recognized. A donation of $1,000 to the Kenneth Pruitt Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students of Indian River State College and a $1,000 donation to the Gerri McPherson Scholarship Fund to benefit students of FAU was made on their behalf by Workforce Solutions.
Community Partners of the Year was awarded to Indiantown Non-Profit Housing, Inc., the Indiantown Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner Ed Ciampi and Florida Power & Light. This award recognized them for their support and participation in the Lauren recruitment last April.
The Partner of the Year was awarded to the Executive Director of the Business Development Board of Martin County, Ronald B. Bunch. Bunch has been an instrumental partner to Workforce Solutions in the last year.
Board Member of the Year was awarded to Lowell Pritchard for exceeding expectations, excelling at workforce issues and his outstanding support of Board programs and services. Several other board members were also recognized during this celebratory event which includes reports of the Board's accomplishment in the last year.
Installation of the officers for the coming year was conducted by Indian River State College President Edwin Massey. Installed were Catherine L. McKenzie as Chair, Soma Gail Melnick as Vice Chair and Patrick Shepherd as Treasurer.
