A Beach Walk That Changed My Life
Contributed by: Susan F. Scherer on 7/18/2009

If you wanted to go to the beach on July 18th, Stuart Beach was the place to be.

Early that morning surfers and families gathered on the beach for the 1st Annual Treasure Coast Surfers for Autism event. Tents ran up and down the beach and families gathered around watching their family members with Autism experience the coast line in a great new way.

Not knowing that this event was going on I felt like I had stumbled upon the happiest place in the world that morning. Surf instructors were there by 7:30 and the surfers started coming on the beach by 8am. When I left at @ 1pm there were still lots of fun going on with ponies just being brought on to the beach and Fresh Catch, the band for the event just getting into the groove.

Thank you Mr Ryan for bringing smiles to so many.
