Port St. Lucie Orchid Society Recognition Awards!

The Port St. Lucie Orchid Society is pleased to announce the 2009 recipients of the American Orchid Society Recognition Awards. This award honors members for service to the Society, to the membership and to the orchid loving community.

This year, the Trustees chose two long term members, Mildred Bouchet and Laurie Hart.

Mildred is the Port St. Lucie Orchid Society's outgoing Recording Secretary, having served in that position for two years. She has been active in manyaspects of the Society and has put forth special effort for our annual show, collecting dozens of door prizes to be presented to our guests.

Laurie Hart has been Recording Secretary, a Trustee and our representative to the South Florida Leadership Council of the American Orchid Society. She was chairwoman of our annual show for five years, growing the show every year. Chairing that show is a huge effort, and Laurie accomplished the task with good humor and efficiency. In June, Laurie was sworn in as incoming First Vice President.
