North Treasure Coast Chapter Seats New Board

Shelia Daniels, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross announced her new board earlier this month. They are Nancy Baker, MD, Amy Brunjes, Jane Cammann, Madison Hodges, Jonnie Jennings, Carol Johnston, Carol Johnston, Athalia Jones, Tom Kiernan, Reuben Lane, Raymond McGowan, and David McGuire. Ms. Daniels, MPA, SPHR, brings twenty years of both private and public sector Human Resource management experience to her current position as the Dean of Human Resources at Indian River State College. Her experience includes executive HR positions in insurance, banking and legal industries, and her public sector experience encompasses both community college and K-12 institutions. She obtained her Master's Degree in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University and holds a "Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)" professional designation through the National Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Human Resource Certification Institute.

Shelia currently serves as the Chair of the Florida Community Colleges HR Council and she and her staff at IRSC were honored recipients of both the 2007 Southern Region and 2007 National Award for "Excellence in Human Resource Practices" by the College and University Professional Association (CUPA).

In addition to serving her profession among the Florida colleges, she has done volunteer work on the state level for the Florida Human Resource Association, including serving as the interim Chair of their annual State Conference and State Professional Development Director. Outside of her professional contributions, Shelia contributes to several IRSC working committees and along with her volunteer commitment as a Board Member for the North Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross; she is serving on the Board of the Council on Aging of St. Lucie County.

The North Treasure Coast Chapter of American Red Cross serves the citizens of Indian River and St. Lucie counties; providing relief to victims of disaster, and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
