PORT ST LUCIE, FL-Three new board members were added to the already stellar Workforce Solutions Board of Directors-- Pamela G. Houghten, Director of Education and Community Outreach with Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, Philip "Lee" Brown, Senior Vice President with First Peoples Bank, and Thomas D. Creola, Campus President with Keiser University.
"These new members bring fresh ideas and diverse backgrounds to our board. I look forward to working with each of them," the Chief Executive Officer of Workforce Solutions Gwenda Thompson said.
Houghten has been quite active since joining our community in 2007. She serves on several boards, including the St Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the St Lucie Education Foundation where she serves as the President. She is the Workforce Board's first bio-research industry representative.
Brown has over 25 years experience in the world of finance and five years working with First Peoples Bank. Born and raised in Indian River County, he is also an active board member of the St Lucie Education Foundation. In the letter that accompanied his application he noted his long-time interest in workforce development issues.
Creola has 29 years experience in higher education administration. He is a member of the Port St Lucie Chamber of Commerce as well as various professional affiliations such as the American Association of Higher Education.
