PAL Adopts a Street and a Park
Contributed by: Tom Filipkowski on 10/3/2009

In 2008, the Port St. Lucie Police Athletic League, Inc. adopted Tiffany Avenue as part of the city's Adopt-a-Street Program. The success of this venture has led PAL to take on another volunteer opportunity that benefits the city.

In October, PAL also adopted Wood Stork Park, committing to a monthly cleanup of the park across the street from the PAL gym in Port St. Lucie. For the first cleanup, members of PAL's Youth Directors Program and the Karate Program volunteered their time on Saturday, October 3 to pick up trash from the park and Tiffany Avenue from US 1 to Lennard Road. The many bags of trash that were collected offered proof of a productive morning of community service.

The next cleanup of the area is scheduled for Saturday, November 14.
